Let’s face it. It can be tough to get your kids to eat their fruits and veggies. But we all know how important it is for them to survive off of more than potato chips, soda and candy.
Here’s the good news: it doesn’t have to be a battle. These are three simple ways to encourage your kids to eat healthy.
- Let them choose fruits and veggies. Let them choose what kind of FruitShare box to order, and what veggies to get at the supermarket. Kids are more likely to eat healthy foods when they helped pick them out.
- Get them engaged. Kids of all ages can help in the kitchen. Let the little ones stir and add ingredients, while older kids can take charge of making side dishes all on their own. Kids are more willing and excited about eating healthy when they had a hand in preparing them.
- Put them in dessert. It’s okay to indulge every once in awhile, and even then you include healthy elements. Slice pears on top of frozen yogurt or drizzle them in chocolate. Dip apples in caramel. Dessert can be simple, healthy and sweet – for kids and for you!
